Laktoleraza, tbl. 30

Laktoleraza tablets contain the enzyme lactase 4500 ALU – lactase units. The enzyme lactase improves the digestion of lactose in people who have difficulty digesting lactose.

Lactase (beta-galactosidase) is an enzyme that cleaves lactose into simple carbohydrates D-glucose and D-galactose, which are directly digestible. The enzyme lactase is naturally produced by villi in the small intestine. The highest production of lactase is during infancy, after which its production naturally decreases. The insufficient of production the enzyme lactase in the small intestine can be primary – a result of a natural decrease of lactase production with increasing age (irreversible condition), secondary – a result of gastroenterological problems (reversible condition) or congenital. Lactose that has not been cleaved in the small intestine is moved to the large intestine. In the large intestine lactose is affected by bacteria, producing substances which are irritable to the intestinal wall and cause digestion problems.

Recommended dosage:

1 tablet, drink with water before or during a meal that contains lactose. If necessary, two tablets can be used depending on the amount of lactose in food or one’s lactose tolerance. Maximum 8 tablets per day.
